Gaudi
The contrast in colour is always more or less alive and from this we are obliged to colour in part or all of an architectural piece. Nature does not produce anything that
is monochrome or uniform in colour - Antoni Gaudi
In this collection Alan was inspired by Gaudi's disregard for formal order, unrelated systems and how he re-established visual order. His cuts combined with his unique draping techniques depict the sensuous curving of nature’s organic shapes.
Ornamentation plays an essential part, in that it gives character but nevertheless it is no more than meter and rhyme in poetry - Antoni Gaudi
Alan's use of vibrant mosaics styled patterns and use of cord inspired by Gaudi's stone structures and cast iron work create a breathtaking and magical collection.
The Architect is a man who synthesises but he does not yet possess the wisdom and infinite intuition of the angels, who alone are capable of building a cathedral without planning ahead - Antoni Gaudi
