 Symbology

noun.
1. the study of symbols.
2. the use of symbols; symbolism

Every traditional symbol bares an elemental power that transcends boundaries and holds significance for many cultures.

The Ancient Mayans believed that symbols were the manifestation of the Gods and in this collection Alan has been inspired by one particular Mayan God, the Sun.

The Sun is the dominant symbol of creative energy, often worshipped as the supreme God, an all-seeing power. As the source of heat, it represents vitality, passion, courage and eternally renewed youth. As the source of light out of darkness, it symbolises knowledge, intellect and truth. And as the most brilliant of the celestial bodies it is the emblem of royalty and splendour.

Combining the classic 1940's silhouette fused with unique draping and use of darts inspired by the raze of the sun Alan has created a collection of opulence and beauty.
